Facial Nerve Disorders

Facial nerve neuroma is a benign tumor that involves the nerve that makes the face to smile. Some are best left alone until they cause symptoms. When facial paralysis or progressive facial weakness has been caused by the tumor, tumor removal along with reconstruction of the facial nerve is recommended. Ancillary surgery may assist in eye closure and assist with facial appearance and function.
